Canadian Dental Care Plan
As you may know, the Canadian Government is rolling out a national dental care plan (CDCP), with the aim of providing access to care for more Canadians.
At Romic & Tabesh Family Dentistry, we are excited about the potential for greater access to dental care, and look forward to contributing positively towards this new program.
Unfortunately, neither the plan administrator (Sunlife), nor the government, have provided concrete details related to the program, leaving patients and dentists with many unanswered questions.
A few important details for those patients who have applied and qualified for the program. Please read carefully if you plan to apply for CDCP.
Our office will participate in the program on a trial basis, to ensure that our patients are able to benefit from the plan.
Despite the marketing, this is not a “free program”, but does subsidize a portion of the cost of dental care.
The government subsidy is expected to be 10-80% of fees depending on your income bracket. Not 100% as advertised.
Please ask for estimates prior to receiving treatment if you require them. Once treatment is rendered, patients are responsible for all fees incurred beyond their CDCP eligible coverage.
Our dentists and staff know only what has been publicly disclosed. We will inform patients as more information arrives.
